I WANT TO THANK EVERYWHERE WITHIN, AGAIN, FOR COMPLYING AS BEST AS YOU WITH THE STATE’S ORDER, THE STAY AT HOME, YESTERDAY I WAS ABLE TO SPEND A LITTLE BIT OF TIME DRIVING ON THE WST SID AND SAW AGAIN LOOK I HAD DONE THE PREVIOUS DAY, BE THAT THINGS ARE SHUTTING DOWN. AS I SAID YESTERDAY, WHEN SEE THING SHUTTER DOWN, AL I CAN THINK ABOUT IS THE ECONOMIC DEVASTATION THAT THAT REPRESENTS AND I KNOW IS A DIFFICULT TIME FOR YOU AND YOUR FAMILY AND FOR ALL OF US AND THANK YOU, THANK YOU FOR COMPLYING. ONCE AGAIN BUT WANT TO KNOW IF ARE REQUIRED TO STAY AT HOME OR ALLOWED TO WORK OR NOT ALLOWED TO WORK, PLEASE CALL THE HOTLINE AT 833-427-5364. THAT US THE STATE HOTLINE. WE, THE CITY, ARE NOT INTERPRETING WHETHER YOU ARE BANNED UNDER THE ORDER, THAT IS YOUR OBLIGATION WE WILL OBVIOUSLY ENFORCE OBVIOUS VIOLATION IF PEOPLE ARE GATHERED IN LARGE NUMBER AND LESS THAN SIX FEET APART IN GENERAL. WE NEED YOU TO HELP US SELF ENFORCE. I WANT TO REMIND EVERYWHERE WITHIN, AGAIN, BE THAT THE GROCERY STORES, PHARMACIES, RESTAURANT, CARRYOUT AND DELIVERIES. GAS STAGSES ARE ESSENTIAL. PLEASE DON’T HOARD SUPPLIES LIKE TOILET PAPER AND TISSUES. THERE WILL BE PLENTY OF CHARMIN AND PUFF, TWO GREAT P&G PRODUCTS IF EVERYONE BUYS NORMAL AMOUNTS. I WANT TO CLARIFY, APPAN, FROM YESTERDAY, EVECTIONSES IF YOU ARE A RENTER, OR NOT HAPPENING BECAUSE THE COURTS ARE CLOSED FOR 30 DAYS AND FOR THOSE WHO ARE IN AWARE. CANNOT BE EVICTED WITHOUT A COURT ORDER, THAT IS TO SAY YOU DON’T HAVE TO PAY THE REN ULTIMATELY BUT YOU WILL HAVE TIME. I KNOW WE ARE ALL DEALING WITH TOUGH FINANCIAL DECISIONS. I ALSO WANT TO REPEAT WHAT I SAID YESTERDAY AND CHIEF ISAACS HERE TO ANY ANY QUESTIONS IF THEY COME OUT UP. I THINK WE CLARIFIED THIS YESTERDAY BUT I NOTICED TODAY, THE HARD COPY REPEATED THE HEADLINE AND THAT I THINK AGAIN AS I SAID YESTERDAY. IT WAS OUR FAULT. WE WERE ALMOST SY IN THE WAY WE ROLLED IT OUT. THERE IS NO CRIME HOLIDAY. WE’RE RESPONDING TO ALL CRIMES, AND WE UNFORT IFLY PEOPLE GOT THE WRONG IMPRESSION BY THE RELEASE. WE APPLANED IT TO CLARIFY THIS ALL PHYSICAL ASSAULTS AND VIOLENCE WILL BE RESPONDED TO IN PERSON AND THAT ALL CRIMES, ALL CRIM WILL BE DUE PRESSED. WE DIDN’T SAY IT WELL. WE ARE POLICE OFFICERS AM WITH ARE TRYING TO LIMIT HUMAN HUMAN CONTACT WHENEVER POSSIBLE? THE EXAMPLE I GAVE YESTERDAY I WILL GET AGAIN TODAY. IF YOUR NEIGHBOR IS PLAYING MUSIC AT 3:00 IN THE MORNING. THEN YOU CAN’T SLEEP, CALL IT IN. WE WILL MAKE SURE THE MUSIC IS TURNED OFF WE MINOT THEN FOLLOW UP WITH IN PERSON DISCUSSION WITH ON THE FRONT PORCH IF WE HAVE BEEN ABLE TO GET THE HUSIC TURNED OFF. THAT WOULD LIMIT, AGAIN, THE INTERACTIONS AND SAVE OUR POLICE. THAT IS WHAT WE HAVE BEEN TRAYS TO SAY. THAT IS WHAT WE’RE TRYING TO DO TO PRESERVE THE HEALTHY WORK FORCE AND ONCE AGAIN, I APOLOGIZE FOR ANY CONFUSION THAT WE UNNECESSARILY OR UNINTENTIONALLY CAUSED. YOU WANT TO THANK CONGRESS TO TO LOOKS LIKE PASS HISTORIC BILL TO HELP PEOPLE FINALLY GET LOOING THE CRISIS. IN THE LAST REALLY DAYS, WAS ABE ABLE TO SPEAK TO SENATORS PORT MACHINE AND BROWN CONGRESSMAN SHAB BOTT AND WINSTROP AND THIS IS EXTRA ORDER ARE RY BILL AND WILL HELP MANY PEOPLE SUR VIF FOON LANE WE WANT TO THANK THE CONGRESS FOR COMING TOGETHER IN A BIPARTISAN WAY TO GET THIS DONE. I WAN TOP REITERATE SOMETHING THAT IS UNCLEAR AT THIS TIME. THERE IS HOPE TO THINK THERE IS SOME MONEY AND OPPORTUNITY FOR 10 89 EMPLOYEE AND INDIVIDUALS AND YOU KNOW WHO YOU, IF YOU ARE ONE, TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR UNEMPLOYMENT COMPENSATION. WE ARE NOT 100% CERTAIN SO THOSE THAT ARE AT HOME ARE LOOKING FOR A WAY TO CONTRIUTE, E-MAIL, CALL, CONGRESS HOUSE, SENATE, ET CETERA, AND ASK PEOPLE TO ENSURE AS THEY DOLLARS THINK THE LANGUAGE AND THE REG LAGSES THAT 10 9 EMPLOYEES ARE COVERED BUS GOD KNOWS THEY WILL NEED THE ASSISTANCE. THERE IS ALSO DIRECT SUPPORT FOR POLICE AND FIR AND AMBULANCE WORKERS IN THE AND THE HEALTH CARE WORKERS LOOK THE BE BLUBBING HEALTH DEPARTMENT, THE POLICE DEPARTMENT, HOWEVER, AT THE MOMENT, IT APPEARS IT WILL ONLY GO TO CITIES AND URBAN AREAS OF00 THOUSAND PEOPLE OR MORE. ALTHOUGH OUR REGION IS 2 MILLION. NONE OF OUR JURISDICTIONS EXCEED 500,000 AND DOP UNFAIR FOR US AS A REG BEEN TO NOT GOT THE FAIR SHARE. AND SO, WHAT WE ARE ASKING CONGRESSES TO DO IS FOR ANY AMOUNT OF MACHINE MY THEY GIVE TO CITIES TO PAY FOR AMBULANCE WORKS, HEALTH CARE WORKERS, POLICE AND FIRE, THAT IT BE DEN ON PER CAPITA BASS, ON A FAIR BASIS THROUGHOUT THE COUNTRY. SO IF YOU COULD HELP US LOBBY ON THAT POINT, AS WELL. I CAN TELL THAT YOU SENATORS BROWN AND PORTMAN, CONGRESSMAN AND WIN STRAP ALL PERSONALLY FOR THAT PINT AND WE ARE THANKFUL ARE THAT. THE STATE OF OHIO ALSO IS IN SESSION TODAY? PASSING A NUMBER OF IMPORTANT PIECES OF LGLATION. ONE THAT HAS A HUGE IMPACT ON ALL OF US IS ELECTION DAY AS PEOPLE MAY HAVE FORGOTTEN BECAUSE IT SEEMS LAKE A LONG TIME AGO BUT ALSO TUESDAY, MARCH 17th, ST. PATRICK’S DAY, WAS SUPPOSED TO BE THE ELECTION DAY. THEN, IT WAS MOVED FOR CORONAVIRUS PURPOSES WITHOUT ANY CLARITY AS TO WHAT WOULD HAPPEN. IT SEEMS EXTREMELY LIKELY AT THIS POINT THAT TODAY, AND IT WILL BE DEPHYSICIANTIVE DECIDED AND THAT FOLKS WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY IF YOU HAVE NOT VOTEDLY AND HAVEN’T VOTED ALREADY THAT YOU WILL ARE THE OPTION TO VOTE BUY MAIL AND BY MAIL ONLY AND MAY BE SOME EXCEPTIONS TO DO IN PERSON VOTING AT THE BOARD OF ELECTIONS FOR VERY RARE CASES AND 9% OF US. THE ONLY OPTION WE HAVE IS VOTE BUY MAIL WITH A DEAD LYNN OF APRIL 28th. ROUGHLY A MONTH FROM NOW. SO AM ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE WHO LIKES TO VET ON ELECTION DAY. LOOK THE RITUAL. I NEVER VET EARLY. SO I STILL HAVE TO VOTE. WILL IN FILLING OUT A FORM ASKING FOR BILLION LET AND I WILL BE VOTING BY MILL AS WELL AS MY WIFE IN THE COMING WEEKS, AND I ENG COVERAGE ALL OF YOU WHO HAVE NOT YET VOTEED IF YOU HAVE NOT VOTED TO DO SO. I WILL STATE THE FAC THAT SHOE SELF REN, WHICH ON THE BILLION HOT. ANYONE WHO LIVE OR WORKS IN THE CITY AND PAYS THE INCOME TAX THAT WOULD REDOS THE CITY INCOME TAX TO 1.8 IF IT PASSES AND REVIDE CRITICAL FUNDING TO FIX THE I I HAVE ADDUCT AND THINGS O THAT MY YOU ARE. THAT IS FACTUAL INFORMATION FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION. FOR THE MEDIA, THE STATE IS ALSO PASSING. CITY COUNCIL AND GOVERNMENT BODIES GENERAL DURING THE CORONAVIRUS RAY SIS CAN MEET REMOTELY VIA TELECONFERENCING AS LONG AS VOICES CAN BE HEARD AS WE HAVE BEEN DOING. THOSE ARE THE MOST MAJOR UPDATES FOR THE MOMENT. I WOULD LIKE TO ASK COMMISSIONER TO GIVE THE DAILY UPDATE. >> THANK YOU, MAYOR. FIRST OF ALL, I WANT TOP STATE WITH START WITH THE STATE HEALTH DEPARTMENT NUMBERS THAT WE TRA DOINGSLY PROVIDE. IT IS THERE IS 704 CASES IN OHIO. WE NOW HAVE 75 INDIVIDUALS IN ICU, 182 HOSPITALIZATIONS, THE AGE RANGE, MEDIUM RANGE IS 51. WE HAVE TEN DEATHS. I WANT TO SEN CONDOLENCES OUT TO THOSE FAMILIES WHO LOST THEIR LOVED ONES. THEN HEALTH CENTERS, OUR CINCINNATI HEALTH DEPARTMENT PRIMARY CARE HEALTH CENTERS. AS OF TODAY, THIS REPORTING WE HAVE 29 PATIENTS THAT HAVE BEEN TESTED TWO POSITIVES AND 31-YEAR-OLD MALE WE RECEIVED TWO CASES BOTH MALES WHICH TAKES THE TOTE AL UP TO 16 AND I SEAVEY A QUESTION HERE AS RELATES TO COVID-19 PATRON AT KICKBACK AND CELEBRITY BARS. HAVE ANTICIPATE NEW CASES BEEN CONFIRMED WITH WITH THE BARS WITH THIS FRIDAY MARKING THE 14th DAY SINCE EXPOSURE OR OR THE OTHER COST MS WHO WERE THERE THAT NIGHT CONSIDERED TO BE IN THIS HE CLEAR IF THEY DON’T DEVELOP SYMPTOMS 6789 WOULD WHAT I WOULD SAY IS JUST REMEMBER, WE DON’T HAVE THE RESULTS WE HAVE THE RESULTS BACK IN THE PERSON WHO TESTED POSITIVE. WE KNOW THAT ANYONE THAT WAS IN THOSE TWO FACILITIES AND IF THAT’S THE ONLY PLUS A THEY WENT, NO OTHER PLACE AND HAVE NOT DEVELOP ANY SIGN OR SYMPTOMS, YOU WOULD BE CONSIDERED CLEARED TO COME OFF OF THE 14 DAY MONITORING. HOWEVER, TAKE INTO CONSIDERATION, IF THOSE INDIVIDUALS WHO VISITED THOSE TWO PLACES WENT OTHER PLACES AND MIGHT HAVE BEEN EXPOSED TO SOMEONE, BE THAT WE DONE YET KNOW ABOUT, YOU MIGHT NOT BE IN THE CLEAR. WE ARE STILL DOING OUR CONTACT INVESTIGATIONS SO AS THAT INFORMATION BECOMES FORWARD, COMES FOR WAR, WE CAN PROVIDE A LITTLE BIT MORE DETAIL BUT PLEASE BE MINDFUL THAT HUMAN ASPECT OF IT. THIS IS PROTECTIVE HEALTH INFORMATION. AGAIN, WE WILL GET THROUGH THIS. THANK YOU. WE WILL NOW TAKE QUESTIONS. FIRST UP TODAY, TY HI, REMEMBER FOLKS ARE ON THE PHONE TO BE ABLE TO ANSWER AND QUESTIONS. BUSINESS COURIER I SAID THE CITY WILL NOT BE GETTING ANY MONEY THE STIMULUS BILL AS IT STANES NOW, THAT IS CORRECT? >> OUR UNDERSTANDING IS THAT THE MOMENT IT IS LIMITED AND THIS IS DIRECT ASSISTANCE TO CITIES THAT IT IS LIMITED AND CITIES THAT HAVE A POPULATION AND IN EXCESS OF 500 THOUSAND. AS YOU CAN IMAGINE, ONLY ONE CITY IN OHIO MEETS THAT DEFINITION, SO IT WOULD EXCLUDE DAYTON, CINCINNATI, CLEVELAND, TOW DOE, AKRON, ET CETERA? NOT TO MENTION ALL THE SMALLER CITIES WHAT WE HAVE BEEN ADVOCATING FOR IS THAT THEY JUST USEDDED A CBDG FORMULA COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANTS WHICH IS A FRM THAT EVERY CITY AND COUNTY. BECAUSE COUNTY ALSO GETS CBDG DOLLARS ARE FAMILIAR WITH. WE BELIEVE IT IS PAIR. IT WOULD DELIVER SOME DOLLARS NOT ONLY TO SINCE TY, HAMILTON COUNTY, BUT ALSO DELIVER SOME DOLLARS TO PLACES LIKE BLUE ASH AND FAIRFIELD AND SMALLER CITIES LIKE THAT. WE THINK TO THE EXTEND THEY PROVIDE ANY MACHINE NOW THE LOCAL DON’TS THEY SHOULD DO SO ON THE KIND OF FAIR BASIS. HAVING SAID THAT. WE WANT TO BE CLEAR THAT AND WE HAVE SAID THIS IN THE CONVERSATIONS WITH THE COCONGRESSIONAL DELEGATION THAK WE BELIEVE THAT BENEFITS TO UNEMPLOYMENT TO INDIVIDUALS IS MER IMPORTANT ULTIMATELY AND WE HOPE THEY DO THAT FIRST AND APPEARS THEY ARE DOING SO. THEY ARE GOING TO SEN MONEY TO LOCAL GOVERNMENT WHICH APPEARS THEY ARE GOING TO DO, IT SEEMS THEY SHOULD DO SO FAR AND INCLUDE EVERYONE ONLY 32 CITIES IN THE WHOLE COUNTRY THAT HAVE POP LAGS ABOVE 500,000 SO DOESN’T SEEM IR MOST OF US. I CAN TELL YOU BOTH SENATORS BROWN AND PORTMAN FELT THE SAME WAY. >> OH’S. THANK YOU. THEN THE OTHER QUESTION IS ABOUT THE BUSINESSES THAT ARE NOT ALLOWED TO REMAIN OPEN UPPER THE ORDER. THERE IS CONTRADICTORY ADVICE THAT THE STATE SAID TODAY IN THE PRESS CORN RENS. WELL, DON’T CALL THE HOTLINE. IT IS THERE A TYPE OF BUSINESS IN PARTICULAR THAT THE CITY IS HEARING FROM THAT IS CONFUSED WITH ARE ABOUT THIS? CAN YOU SAY WHAT IT IS? >> WELL, WE DO GET CALLS EVERYDAY FROM EITHER EMPLOYEES OR EMPLOYERS TRYING TO FIGURE OUT IF THEY QUALIFY OR NOT. THERE ARE OBVIOUS ONES THAT ARE BLACK LETTER LAW THAT ARE CLEAR LIKE BARS ARE CLOSED AND YOU KNOW, CARRY OUTS ALLOW OF COURSE. BUT THERE IS A A A LOT OF GRAY A WE ARE NOT GOING TO INCORPORATE THAT FOR INDIVIDUALS AND COMPANIES AND INDIVIDUALS NEED TO CONSULT THE DOCUMENT WHICH IS AVAILABLE ON THE WEBSITE OR THE STAT’S WEB SITE DIRECTLY. I CAN TELL YOU THAT YESTERDAY, AND TODAY, IN OUR DALLY CALL WITH THE FO NOR, THE MAYORS ACROSS OHIO AND MYSELF RAISED THIS ISSUE BASS THE STATE HAD BEEN TELLING FOLKS THAT LOCAL BOARDS OF HEALTH AND THE CITY POLICE CAN IN CORPORATE THIS DECISION THAT IS JUST NOT TRUE AND THE GOVERNOR HAS COMMITTED TO CLARIFYING THAT AND THEY TRIED TO DO SO. THERE IS MIXED MESS AGOS SENT OUT AT THAT POINT. THE FACT IS THAT PEOPLE HAVE BT TO SELF ENFORCE AND THEY NEED TO CONSULT THE DOCUMENT AS I SAY AND HAVE SAID YOU THE IF YOU ARE DRIVING YOUR CAR WE ARE GOING TO ASSUME YOU ARE GOING TO THE GROCERY STORE YOU ARE GOING TO THE BUSINESS THAT IS STILL OPEN ET CETERA. -WE WILL GET INVOLVED WE WILL SEE LARGE NUMBER OF PEOPLE GATHERING AND CLOSE PROXIMITY TO EACH OTHER. NOW WALKING TON THE STREET WITH YOUR LOVED ONE ORCHIDS IS ALLOWED BUT THAT IS IT? YOU KNOW? WE UNDERSTAND AS YOU GO ON A WALK ON A BEAUTIFUL DAY LIKE TODAY AND WEARING RED AND WHEN BASEBALL COMES BACK AS YOU PASS OTHER PEOPLE YOU ARE GOING TO HAVE TO BE WITHIN SIX FEET SO COMMON SENSE HAS TO DICTATE AND PREVAIL BUT THERE SHOULD BE ATTEMPT SAFELY TO ALWAYS TAN THE SIX FOOT DISTANCE >> MAYOR, ONE OTHER THING, DID YOU HEAR ANYTHING ABOUT THE CONVENTION CENTER AND WHETHER THERE WERE LAYOFFS THERE AT THIS POINT INTO YES, I DID HEAR THERE WERE. I DON’T KNOW HOW MANY. >> QUESTION WE HAVE A QUESTION. >> YES. HI, MAYOR. I GOT THREE QUESTIONS ONE FOR THE HEALTH COMMISSIONER AND THE FIRST QUESTION IS SHRINERS HOSPITAL PART OF THE PLAN TO REUPON TO COVID-19 AND WHY OR WHY NOT ONE WAY OR ANOTHER ON THAT ONE? >> OK. HEALTH COMMISSIONER? >> WHAT I CAN TELL YOU IS THAT AL THE HOSPITALS ARE LOOKING AT WHAT THEY CAN DO AS FAR AS PREPARING FOR THE SURGE THAT WE ANTICIPATE COMING AND MER WILL BE DISCUSSED AND REVEALED AS THOSE PLANS BECOME REVITLIED. THERE HAVE BEEN DISCUSSIONS ABOUT USING DORMITORY, HOTELS AND LOOK AT OTHER FACILITIES THAT MAY BE THE PROPERTY OF THOSE HEALTH SYSTEMS SO ANOTHER COME. ALL THE SYSTEMS ARE ENGAGED OR INVOLVED IN THAT DISCUSSION. THANK. >> THEN I HAVE TWO MORE QUICK QUESTIONS FOR THE CHIEFS. I WAS HOPING TO GET A BETTER SENSE OF HOW THE CHANGES IN THE DIFFERENCE RESPONSE IS GOING AND ARE THEY GETTING ANY COMPLAINS FROM PEOPLE CALLING IN? ARE TH OFFICERS HAPPY WITH THE CHANGES? THEN I ALSO WANTED TO ASK ABOUT LOCATION INFORMATION FOR POSITIVE COVID-19 CASES AND L SINCE TY POLICE ARE GETTING THOSE LOCA OR NOT. THAT IS THE ISSUE IN THE STATE. >> OK. YES, WE HAVE A NUMBER OF PEOPLE THAT HAVE ALREADY CALLED IN DIFFERENT REPORTS. WE HAVE RECEIVED A FEW E-MAILS OF PEOPLE REALLY MORE ASKING QUESTIONS AND EXPRESSING FOR MORE CLARITY ON THIS. THAT IS WHAT WE TRIED TO DO OVER THE PAST DY OR SO TO MAKE SURE PEOPLE UNDERSTAND THIS. I HAVE HAD CONVERSATIONS FROM SEVERAL CHIEFS OVER THE LAST DY OR SO AND ALMOST EVERY ONE OF THOSE CITIES ARE DOING SOMETHING SIMILAR. I JUST WANT TO REITERATE. WE WILL RESPOND IN SOME FASHION TO NONEMERGENCY SITUATION. IF THERE IS AH EMERGENCY, THERE IS NO CHANGE. THE BRIF MEN AND WOMEN ARE READY T GO. THEY ARE READY TO PROVIDE THE SERVICE THEY HAVE ALWAYS PROVIDED? THEN, YOUR SECOND QUESTION, I AM NOT SEEING ANYTHING. KNOW THAT IS BECOMING A RECENT TOPIC. I KNOW THIS IS A RIFF SY ISSUE. WE ALSO HAVE TO BE MINDFUL AS WELL THAT IF THERE IS INFORMATION AVAILABLE WE WANT TO MAKE SURE THE FIRST RESPONDERS ARE SAFE GOING TO SITUATION HOUSEHOLD SO I BELIEVE THERE WILL BE MORE TO COME IN THE UPCOMING DAYS REGARDING THAT. >> THANK YOU. WDXU? >> JUST A QUICK CLARIFYCUSSION ON THE HEALTH COMMISSION IN’S NUMBERS. SHE MENTIONED THERE WERE 20 PATIENTS TESTED THE CLINIC. I WAS CONFUSED ABOUT WHAT SHE SAID AFTER THAT CONCERNING THE NUMBERS 16 AND 14. CAN YOU DOLLARS ARE CLARIFY. THANK YOU? CLAN YOU CLARIFY? THANK YOU. >> THANKS. THE NUMBER THAT I WAS REFERRING TO THE 16 OR THE NEGATIVE RESULTS WE RECEIVED AND THIS 14 RESULTS THAT ARE PENNING. PENDING. >> THANK YOU. >> ARE THERE ANY QUESTIONS FROM THE IMMEDIATIAN THE ROOM? CHANNEL 5. >> Reporter: [INAUDIBL >> THE QUESTION FOR THOSE WHO COULDN’T HEAR IT ON TV WAS FROM CHANNEL 5. DAN. THE QUESTION WAS THAT HE HAD MENTIONED YESTERDAY THERE WERE TWO NIGHTCLUBS THAT IF YOU HAD BEEN THERE ON FRIDAY MARCH 13th, YOU SHOULD WATCH YOUR SYMPTOMS. THE QUESTION ARE ANY OTHER LOCATIONS WE CAN PUBLICIZE FOR PEOPLE’S BEN IT TO BE WORRIED ABOUT SYMPTOMS? PEOPLE’S BENEFIT TO BE FOR WORRIED ABOUT SYMPTOMS. >> AT THIS PUP AND TIME, I HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY OTHER INFORMATION BY ANY OTHER BUSINESSES. THANK YOU. >> Reporter: [INAUDIBL >> THERE HAVE BEEN A COUPLE OF RECENT INCIDENTS BUT THEY ALL COMPLIED UPON REQUEST. SO NOTHIN THAT WE HAD TO TAKE ANY ENFORCEMENT ACTION ON >> IT HAS BEEN MY EXPERIENCE AS I HAVE BEEN AROUND THE CITY TO SEE THAT PEOPLE ARE TRYING HARD TO MONITOR THEMSELVES AND KEEP DISTANCE. WE SAID FROM BEGINNING, THIS IS FOR YOUR AND ALL OF OUR PUBLIC HEALTH SAFETY AND WE DO NOT INTEND TO REST IN THESE SITUATIONS UNLESS SOMEONE IS DEFY AND, UNWILLING TO OBSERVE WHEN ASKED BY OUR STEPHS TO TRY TO KEEP THAT SIX FOOT DIFFERENCE. AS I MENTIONED, HAVE BEEN ON THE CALLS DALLY WITH PEOPLE FROM AROUND THE STATE WITH THE GOVERNOR AND THEY ARE REPORTING- THEY FEEL PEOPLE ARE NOT FOLLOWING THE ORDER. SO ONCE AGAIN, AS I POINT OUT YESTERDAY, THE GOVERNOR CREED SINCE TY’S COMPLIANCE IN GENERAL. I AM NOT SAYING HE IS PERFECT BUT IS VERY GOOD. I WANT TO THANK ALL OF YOU BECAUSE AS I SAY, NOT ONLY DOING THE RIGHT THING FOR YOU AND YOURSELF AND FOR ALL OF US BUY EXTENSION BUT ALSO MANS YOU ARE TAKAC FINANCIAL HIT AS A RESULT. THIS IS REAL SACK FIS. ANY OTHER QUESTIONS IN THE ROOM? OK. WELL, THEN, JUST TO REITERATE WE WILL NOT BEHAVING A PRESS CONFERENCE TOMORROW UNLESS THERE IS SOME EXTRA READY TO THIS RY BREAKING NEWS. PLEASE WEAR RED TOMORROW IN HONOR OF OPENING DAY AND SUPPOSED TO BE A BEAUTIFUL DAY. WE HOP YOU ENJOY IT SAFELY. REMEMBER WASH YOUR HANDS FREQUENTLY. DISINFECT SURFACES AS MUCH AS YOU CAN. AND TAKE C
‘Baseball will return’: Cincinnatians still encouraged to wear red Thursday
Cincinnati Mayor John Cranley is encouraging everyone to wear red on Thursday in honor of what would have been Reds Opening Day.About two weeks ago, Major League Baseball announced the 2020 season will be delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, in accordance with guideline from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. That date has not yet been announced.”These actions are being taken in the interests of the safety and well-being of our communities, players, clubs and fans,” the Reds said in a statement on March 12.Officials with the Cincinnati Reds are inviting everyone to celebrate what they’re calling “Opening Day at Home.””Reds country is known for throwing the best Opening Day celebration in baseball for more than 100 years, and we will continue the tradition this year as well,” said a statement from the Reds.Cranley and the Reds community are encouraging all Reds fans to put on Reds gear and get festive. If you wear your favorite Reds gear, you’ll invited to share videos, photos and Opening Day memories on social media by using the hashtag #OpeningDayatHome and #RedsCountry. You can also tune in to FOX Sports Ohio at 1 p.m. to watch a replay of the 2019 Opening Day win.”We’re all huge Reds fans. Baseball will come back eventually but as a reminder of that, why don’t we show some red tomorrow,” Cranley said at Wednesday’s press conference.Aside from encouraging everyone to wear red, Cranley provided an update on the latest COVID-19 statistics and what city leaders are doing to keep the community safe.Cranley wanted to remind everyone to stop order supplies and said there will be plenty available. He also wanted to repeat what he clarified Tuesday in that “there is no crime holiday” and police officers will be responding to all crimes. All physical assaults and violence will responded to in-person. City leaders will continue to take whatever steps necessary to keep police officers safe, but wanted to reiterate that all crime will be promptly responded to.Cranley said it is his understanding that at the moment, direct assistance is only provided to cities with 500,000 or more people. This would exclude Dayton, Cincinnati and Toledo. “We ask they use CDBG standards to determine who gets money from stimulus,” Cranley said. “If they’re going to send money to local governments, it seems they should do so fairly and include everyone.”
